This is a turn key Brake Rebuild kit for those Focus RS owners who take their car to the track and or drive it 
like its stolen. 

This kit consists of every component you need to ensure your calipers hold up to the extreme demands of a track day. 
New stainless steel pistions, oil seals and high temp Dust boots. 

High Temp blue dust boots:

Dust boots can help to shield not only the braking heat, but the brake debris and foreign particles (water, moisture, dust) from getting into the seal/piston chamber thus dust boots can help to improve the caliper performance and extend the its life.

  • Pro - Preferred by track drivers who constantly burnt out their OE boots under repeated high temperature braking.
  • Con - Must avoid contacting brake fluid, and/or using brake grease during installation, and if there is a brake fluid leak the boots will be attacked & ruptured, and must be replaced.

Do not use these, and NEVER lube blue dust boots with brake fluid or you will ruin the blue boots.

Note: Our standard boots although they look the same as OE or other aftermarket (black rubber), but they are strong and can resist to 300 deg F, much more durable than OE so in most cases that's all you need.

 

Note when the blue boots are attacked (ruptured), they look fresh blue and show no sign of being burnt by the heat at all.

 

 Stainless Steel Pistons

Stainless Steel (vs. OE Aluminum) Piston :
  1. Lower heat transmittal, only about 10% of aluminum
  2. Less brake fluid replacement & down time.
  3. Better dimensional stability (Lower heat expansion rate)
  4. More rigidity means more efficient in brake torque transmittal.

How RB pistons are made & advantage

  • Machined from a solid SS bar stock for the highest strength and rigidity.
  • Thin wall cut to reduce the piston weight and increase of cooling surface.
  • Vents (6x) assure stable contact with brake pad and quick brake release.
  • Chrome plated mirror finish for ultimate braking performance and extending seal life.
  • Eliminate multiple piece sub-components (seal inside the seal) like OE.

  • Since our pistons are of ONE solid piece stainless steel so no "puck" to chip, separate, or melt (aluminum)

Advantage of a thin wall cut stainless steel piston vs. straight cut:
